1) Remove the trim pieces and clean them with rubbing alcohol. Using the pins attached behind the panel you can mount them onto a cardboard box to keep them elevated about 1" so you can get all around the sides properly.
2) I applied 2 coats of primer. Some of my pieces has small gouges so this filled them out smooth. After the 2nd coat dried I then sanded with 320 grit to get them paint ready.
3) 3 light coats of Duplicolor Brilliant Silver spraypaint. Go with light coats to avoid any runs or high build-up areas. Key to getting a nice finish is light, smooth, even strokes about 10 inches from the trim piece. The pictures don't show it but in person it's a shimmery metallic silver.
4) 2 coats of Krylon Clear Gloss Glaze. This stuff goes on THICK. About equal to 3 coats of standard clearcoat. When you first put it on it will appear matte and cloudy. Don't worry, after a couple of hours it will dry crystal clear and glossy and feel like glass.
